Animation Studio HQ
Workplace | 110,000 SF | Vancouver, Canada
Interconnecting Stair
For the Vancouver HQ relocation of a renowned Australian animation studio, we were tasked to design a multi-story workspace that not only met the technical demands of their production pipeline but also embodied their playful and quirky culture.
As the anchor tenant of a newly developed building,
their new home features open workspaces, highly
specialized production hubs, a two-story, 150-person
theater, and a vibrant top-floor amenities space
with a server café and an expansive outdoor terrace.
The biggest challenge, and opportunity, was designing for highly specific light and sound conditions across multiple animation departments while ensuring adaptability for
ever-changing production team sizes. Equally important was capturing the studio’s imaginative spirit, weaving in playful design elements that reflect the energy of their work. More than just a workspace, we wanted to create a design that fuels creativity, fosters collaboration, and sets the stage for what they do best—storytelling.
